Well we started the day off excited as we launched our Fall design contest. We were getting a lot of messages form our fans about how excited they were. We then got a message that we thought was a joke at first. Well we we very wrong. Now we know that being in the Doll Clothing business, that we deal a lot with young girls. We just never imagined this, and honestly we were shocked. We were accused of "stealing" someones design. To make a long story short, someone stated our Maritime Maiden design was stolen from their design video they had entered in another contest. Curious, we watched their video. Wow! That is just like our design, except for they had a blue denim skirt, instead of our white shorts. Even the necklace was quite similar. We we perturbed. What in the world? Now, this design, as we have stated before was designed by our eldest daughter Brittany. She sketched it over a year ago. We made the first "mock up" in March. Now is the time we wish we had a dated video. Ha ha. This girl went on to post serious accusations of how this was stolen from her. We tried to assure her that we absolutely DID NOT steal her design. We are not sure we convinced her. In the mean time, we got messages from her friend also making accusations. The funny thing is, we posted a pic of this design as we were making on our old facebook. Of course that facebook profile is now closed, so we could not use that as proof.
Now why are we so worked up about this? Not sure. I guess because we pride ourselves on our honesty, and this was a design by our daughter. I suppose when someone makes false accusations, you want nothing more than to clear your name.
So, we want to assure everyone , that we absolutely did not steal any one's design. We do not spend time watching videos on YouTube, or do we follow other design contests. We just do not have time to do that. We get our designs from current trends. Catalogs, movies stars, Rock Stars etc... Not from YouTube.
So we tried to find some type of proof. This was the best we could do, as it was hard to find records. So here is a copy of our Ebay transactions where we purchased the red & white knit fabric used. You can see the date and the seller id.

We wanted to defend ourselves, as this person is really going out of her way to defame our character. she has even posted a video asking for people's opinions.
We have been in business since 2009. We have a very good reputation, and would not do anything to jeopardize that.
Unfortunately, if this continues, we will have to stop the contests and giveaways.
We would just like to clear our name, and have all of the false accusations stop. All we want to do is make doll clothes and give back to our community and customers. Thank you all for the support over the years!

The 1st winner will be chosen by us, based on overall design & presentation. They will receive their design custom made for them for free. This winning design we be featured as one of our Limited Edition Designs, and available for sale on our website. The second winner, will be chosen by the highest number of "likes" on their youtube video. They will receive their design custom made for them for free also, but not featured as a Limited Edition.
All video responses must not reference any other company in the video or title, or will not be accepted as an entry.You may enter a video/design that has been entered in other contests, just make sure to remove all 3rd party references prior to submission. Our next design contest is right around the corner!
Well, most of you are familiar with our design contests. You design it, we make it ( if you win). We hold these contests via our YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/britlynmadisondoll
We are about to hit 1,000 subscribers, this is our way of thanking all of our customers/fans! Please stay tuned to our Youtube Channel within the next week for our contest announcement video. There will be a few changes, but we think you will like them.
Also keep in mind that we do custom orders. So if you have a design, and want us to make it, just email us a picture, or polyvore creation, or some type of description. The more information, the better a price quote we can give you. We also can do previous limited edition designs,in your choice of fabrics. How cool is that?
